What Toss or Keep does on your device

Toss or Keep scans your device's screenshots using Android's standard photo/media access, so it can show them to you, tag them automatically, and let you organize, keep, or delete them. All of that (the scan, the tags, your Keep/Toss decisions, your custom categories, your settings) is stored in a local database on your device only. The app itself never uploads or transmits any of it anywhere.

Android's own device backup

If you have Android's device backup turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include this app's local data in your regular phone backup, the same way it backs up most other apps' data. That backup setting lives in Android, not in Toss or Keep, and you control it from your phone's Settings app, not from anything Toss or Keep asks you to turn on.

What we don't do

• We don't collect, transmit, or store your screenshots, or any information about their contents, anywhere but your device.
• We don't use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs.
• We don't create user accounts, and we don't ask you to sign in.
• We don't sell, rent, or share your data, because we never have it in the first place.
• We don't access your device's photos for any purpose other than the screenshot management the app is for.

Permissions the app requests

Toss or Keep requests the minimum Android permissions needed to function:

• Photos / media access: to find, display, and manage your screenshots. This is the app's entire purpose and is used for nothing else.
• Storage (older Android versions only): needed on some older OS versions to move files to Trash and permanently delete them when you choose to.

Backups and exports

Toss or Keep Plus adds on demand backup buttons on the Trash, Kept, and Custom Category screens. Each one zips the relevant screenshots into a folder in your device's own Downloads directory, right on your device. That file is created and stays locally. It is never uploaded anywhere by the app.

Purchases

Toss or Keep Plus is a one time purchase handled entirely through Google Play Billing. Payment details are handled by Google, not by us. We never see or store your payment information. Google's handling of that information is covered by Google's own privacy policy.

Children's privacy

Toss or Keep is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age. There is nothing to collect, since the app itself doesn't gather or transmit anything about how you use it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date above. Given the app doesn't collect data today, we don't expect that to change without a very good reason and a clear explanation here first.
